Mr. Lincoln

Mr. Lincoln is a male Bald Eagle hatched and raised at the American Eagle Foundationin Pigeon Forge, TN. He was hatched in 1998 from our breeding pair, Liberty and Justice, at the Dollywood theme park. He was taken to our hack tower on Douglas Lake in Dandridge, TN at 8 weeks of age. He was released from the tower on 8/17/98 at 12 weeks of age. (Hacking is the release of a bird of prey into the wild.)

Joe Rogers of the Wildlife Recovery Association in Shepherd, MI. captured Mr. Lincoln, who was near starvation, on 9/14/98. There were no signs of injury; he just never learned how to hunt for himself. He was sent to Marge Gibson, at a Wisconsin Rehabilitation Center for further observation and care.

Mr. Lincoln returned to AEF on 12/28/98. He now resides at the AEF facility and educates the public, free flying during many educational programs. He is also Challenger's understudy.
